Success for Dementia project

Salford City Council voted to green-light the Angela Swift Developments residential facility, which will sit on the site of the demolished St Joseph’s Convent.

The 1.5-acre site sits on the corner of Greenleach Lane and Broad Oak Road in Worsley. The Victorian convent building that formerly occupied it was heavily damaged in a fire at the start of this year.

Angela Swift’s proposals will see the site redeveloped into an 81-bed care home with lounges, dining areas, and reception facilities. There would be 24-hour care provided, including for those looking to dementia, convalescence, and respite support.

Root3 ecology formed part of the team working alongside TDC Architects who led the design of the project, our expert ecologists provided PEA, Protected species surveys and provided input toward finally steering the project toward a fantastic 10% Net gain on site.
